Ronald Reagan's Presidency.

Some Background Information:

  • Ronald Reagan was president from 1981-1989
  • His vice president was George H.W. Bush.
  • He created reaganomics, the new deal, and he dealt with the iran hostages.
  • After 69 days of being in office he was shot by his would have been assassin.
Reaganomics:
  • Reaganomics is the economic policies put forth by the administration of Ronald Reagan.
  • The most serious attempt to change the ways of U.S. economic policy since the New Deal.
  • Major targeted criteria included: Reduce the growth of government spending. Reduce the marginal tax rates on income from both labor and capital. Reduce regulation. REduce inflation by controlling the growth of the money supply.
New Right:
  • New Right a group of conservatives whose views diverge fromt hose of traditional onservatives, as in being more staunchly opposed to aborion or defense cuts.
  • The New Right dealt with the world.
  • It differs from the Old Right by concerning foreign policy.
Iran Hostages:
  • Americans were held hostage for 444 days
  • They were first held on November 4, 1979
  • There were 51 hostages.
  • individuals would be released if they were sick or they had some other disease.
